It's only day 6!?!?!? Seems like this challenge has been going on for a lot longer!
Today's challenge had me completing a free hand nail art that I have never done before. I was really worried about free handing stripes because I knew that I would not be able to get nice straight lines. Then I realized...it doesn't have to be perfect, sometimes imperfection is perfection! :)
I actually thought about taking pictures during the process instead of at the end, this way you can see what steps I took.
Step 1:
I applied a base coat of Sinful Colors Out of This World. This is a thin silver, white, foil polish. It's very pretty but would need 3 to 4 coats if wearing alone. I applied 2 coats because I knew I would be adding polish on top.
Step 2:
I added my first stripes using OPI Wocka Wocka and a striping brush. The lines are not perfect but I'm okay with that. :)
Step 3:
I filled in the open spaces with my brand new Butter London Dosh. I just got this in the mail today and it is another amazing green. When I saw it online I had to have it but when I opened the box today I fell in love. So far I haven't found a Butter London Polish I don't like! It is hard to tell what it looks like in the picture. I will have to swatch it latter so you can so how gorgeous it is.
Step 4:
Lastly, I added stripes of gold using my Stripe Rite Polish, no name. I think that it actually looks like gold garland across my nails! :)
While I was in the process of creating this design I started thinking that it didn't look right, but now that it is done I like it. It's not my best work but it is festive and looks very Christmas-y. Remember...we learn from our mistakes!
