Nabi Magnetic Polish

On the polish tour with my Mumsy, I discovered something new at the Walgreens in her area.  These were not at my local Walgreens!  There were 2 big displays of Nabi polishes!  I have actually never heard of this polish company so I was intrigued.  There was one display of crackle and one of magnetic polishes.  They were big displays with tons of  colors!  I really didn't care about the crackles and went to the magnetics.  These were only $3.99!  That is an amazing price for magnetic polishes!  I could've cleaned off all the shelves but decided to only buy a green because I really wanted a green magnetic and then I saw the teal (blue).  Both went into my basket!!  I looked around for regular polish but there was none. :(

I had the same experience with the Nabi magnetics that I have had with other magnetic polishes.  They both were opaque in 1 coat and applied very nicely!  They had larger brushes that made one coat easy.  Bad point, they stink!  The smell with this polish was crazy!  Very strong!  I wouldn't want to be exposed to this smell for a long period of time.

I applied 1 coat of both polishes, without a base or top coat.

First up is Dark Green, yes this is the name.  I had to pull off the sticker on the bottom to find the "name".  I had issues with this one.  I didn't shake the bottle enough and I hit my finger with the magnet.  I love this magnet! It's a chevron!!  These magnets do not come off the top!  I made sure the extra polish was off the brush in order to flip it over my nail.  Also there is no finger rest, be careful!  For both polishes I held the magnet for 15 seconds.

I did a much better job with Sky Blue.  I took more time to shake the bottle and was more careful when holding the magnet.  Yes, this polish is a blue polish, however it has a teal look to it.  When I look at is closely I can see undertones of green in the polish.  I really love the color with this one.  Sky Blue has a diagonal lines magnet on top and I decided to turn it, for a different look, on my index finger.  I am going to keep this in mind when I use these again.  Imagine the chevron going in different directions!!

What do you think? Not bad for a cheap magnetic polish???

  2. My Walgreens had the stupid crackle display (no way all that crackle was going to sell... the fad had all but passed before it even came out, and I just don't see people collecting all the colors of it), but I have yet to find the magnetics. Now those have some interesting colors that you don't see in other lines and are desirable.

  3. The blue is definitely my favourite, and they both look great on you!
I'm still not convinced that I need magnetic polishes in my life though. :)

  4. I definitely prefer the blue, the green is a bit brushstroke ridden and just not a very unique colour. But the blue is so pretty!
