Zoya Fail

As most of you know, Zoya had a promotion in April were if you opened a new account you got a free Zoya and if you ordered another polish you got free shipping.  It was actually cheaper to get the one polish but I really wanted Robyn!  My free polish was Purity, because I am obsessed with white right now!

I had a "better in my head" design!  In my head this design looked awesome, on my nails not so much!

I started with 2 coats of Purity and Robyn.  I had a lot of trouble with Purity, but I think it was my fault.  I wasn't taking my time and put too much polish on my nails.  It ended up being runny and drying with bubbles. :(  Robyn applied beautifully, no issues!

Indoor, Fluorescent Light:

This is where things started to go wrong.  I sponged Pure Ice Once Again on the tips.  I did not like how it looked on the white.  You can also see where I dinged my ring finger.

I knew I should have stopped at this point but I decided to finish this crazy design.  I added a stamp using BM201, same polishes. At least I know that both Purity and Robyn are great stamping polishes.

I put 1 coat of NYC on top.  I think I was hoping a miracle would happen and there would be instant gorgeous design.  Wishful thinking! :)

Just another addition to the fail folder. :)

  1. Not a failure. Colors are fantastic and the stamp went on clean with great color.

  5. I am not quite seeing the failure aspect of it... Besides the glitter on the pink, I like this! I love all the nails one way, but doing the ring finger opposite as an accent! ^.^

  9. Well even if you don't like it much, I think it's super cute, i could do without the glitter. But I wouldn't call it a fail

  11. I think design looked really nice with only pure ice! but I don't think you needed a sponge. I did the similar design and I just applied glitter over base polish

  16. Pretty! I see what you mean about the glitter, that's exactly why I didn't get China Glaze Snow Globe. And I totally know what you mean about putting too much polish. That's why I originally hated Zoyas, but now I know that thin coats are the key!
