Summer Challenge: Day 36 - Buttercups

The first thing that I thought of for this challenge was Buttercup from The Princess Bride, use to watch that every week when I was younger! But I couldn't think of what to do, so I settled on the flower.  I had a couple failures before I finally ended up with the design I am sharing.

I started with 3 coats of OPI Alpine White Matte.  Remember what I said about mattes...they tend to hold the stamp better. :)

I ended up layering 2 yellows, to help them stand out better.  I used BM306, Zoya Pippa and China Glaze Sun-Kissed, in that order.

I topped it off with HK Girl.

I was storming all day today, so no sunny pictures.  I tried to get some natural light but it's not the greatest.

I love the brightness that Sun-Kissed added to the design.  I think it makes it more summery! :)

  1. Loving it hun, really nice. I've done a mani using this stamp with white & a hot pink & it came out really well.

I'm loving these new stamping plates, they just seem so much easier to use than the 2011 set. Maybe I'm just getting better at stamping lol x :-)

  2. Love this. The yellows you used are two of the four yellows that I have. Lol.

  4. This is really pretty! I love that it is just subtle enough that they call for closer attention and you have to be close up to really see the design! Plus it is just so bright and summery!! ^.^
