I am always excited when I come across a new nail polish company. What am I talking about...I get excited when someone says "Nail Polish"!! Anyway....A couple months ago I heard about a fairly new company called The New Black. I thought their product was interesting because they put together ombre sets. How cool is that???? The set I am sharing today is one from their summer collection called Walrus. As you can see from the picture, this is a brown ombre.
Natural light, no base or top coat.
Don't the polishes look pretty??? Guess what...pictures lie. Unfortunately, this polish has one of the worst formulas that I have ever seen. Seconds after applying 1 coat, the polish started separating on my nail. It was like the polish was trying to crackle. I had to apply 3 coats to get decent coverage and I still had horrible streaks. The camera actually did a good job hiding these flaws, but in person and up close they were very noticeable. This is very disappointing to me because The New Black presents itself as a high end polish, sold at Sephora and Nordstorm. I would expect better quality.
Sorry New Black, this polish is a failure.

At least it looks pretty on the photos :)
ReplyDeleteOh no! I wonder why the polishes did that? Lame!
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer!!! I love the idea of ombre sets!
ReplyDeletewell done for being honest xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a bummer that these polishes have such a horrible formula because I really love the idea of ombre sets. Plus, that shimmery brown on your thumb is so pretty! Oh well!
ReplyDeleteThats a real shame as in the pictures they look lovely and a company doing ombre sets is such a great idea would of been a winner if it was worth it x
ReplyDeleteThey look very pretty, shame about the formula :(
ReplyDeleteThat's really a shame about the formula. I especially enjoyed looking at the shimmer on the thumbnail, it looks so pretty on the pics.
ReplyDeleteThe thumbnail looks very pretty though :)
ReplyDeleteSeparating on the nail? Unbelievable!
