KBShimmer Vega Bomb

KBShimmer is a indie polish maker that has risen in popularity this year.  I remember first seeing the shop on Etsy and thinking how interesting, because they also sell soaps, lotions and balms.  As the popularity increased the shop moved from Etsy to a stand alone site.  There are a lot of interesting glitter combinations and Vegas Bomb was one that jumped off the page at me.

Vegas Bomb is a mustard, yellow jelly packed of all different kinds and colors of glitter.  Pretty accurate for what would happen after a Vegas bomb! :)

I applied 2 coats, with a base coat and 2 coats of HK Girl.

I really want to love this polish, but I'm still on the fence.  It was such a pain to work with.  It is a thicker polish that made it difficult to get the glitter to stay where I wanted it. Once I got it on, I wasn't sure if I actually liked the combo.  The big reason I bought it was because it is yellow, but after wearing it I'm not really feeling it.  I will give it a second try by layering it over a yellow polish.  This is my first indie purchase that I didn't like, so I feel really sad about it!

  1. I do like it, but I think I'm on the fence about it too. It's pretty but definitely the base is a bit sheer for my liking. Layering might be the way to go with this one!

  2. The color is pretty sheer, but I actually ended up with two different ones! They're both Vegas Bomb, but one is more yellow while the other is more neon yellow.

Not sure which one I like better, and I'm also not sure how I feel about the thickness of it. I still think the final product on the nails looks neat though! :)

  4. I can understand what you mean by saying that the glitter is hard to stay where you want it to be. but I think the combination of confetti is so pretty

  5. Eh I'm not as smitten as I thought I would be... I feel like there's maybe too much glitter? And I'd love for the yellow base to be much brighter maybe.. there's just something lacking somewhere!

  6. It's not my cup of tea, personally, but I can appreciate it! The combo is definitely unique and I like the jelly quality. The dark blue glitter is also super pretty nonetheless!

  7. I agree with what everyone else is saying! I don't think this sheer pale yellow is very flattering!

  8. I had the same problem yesterday with another indie. I've always loved them and I hate to say anything bad about something I know someone has worked hard on.
