The New Black - Runway

I really don't like saying negative things about nail polish.  My hope is to always find the good in polish and make it work, but I just couldn't do that with these polishes.  You hope that maybe you just got a bad batch. Both of the collections that I received from The New Black had horrible formulas.  I had the same thing happen with these polishes as the last collection, separation upon application.

Ink - Has the potential to be a gorgeous navy blue, however the formula was horrible.

Sandstone - Could be a very pretty nude.

Grass - A very pretty, light, shimmery green, bad formula.  You can really see the bubbles in this one.

Hyacinth - Light, shimmery blue.  You can see the separation with this polish.

Canary - Potential to be a gorgeous shimmery, mustard yellow.

Poppy - This one actually wasn't that bad.  It is a beautiful orangey-red jelly.  I didn't have the separation problems with this one. It has more of an orange tone to it, instead of the red that comes across in the bottle.

Orangeade and Geranium

Orangeade - This polish actually comes before Poppy, little mix up in order.  Bright orange, horrible formula.

Geranium - This polish was a pleasant surprise.  It is a coral with a stunning gold shimmer.  I had no problem with the formula.

So the bad news is that I am not impressed with The New Black.  As I said before I expected a better quality polish based on the price and where it is sold.
If you choose to try this polish you can purchase it at and online through Sephora and Nordstorm.

  1. Thank you so much for the totally honest review. I had been checking these out at Sephora and would have been so angry to spend good money and get this!

  4. What a shame that the formula sucks, because the colours are really pretty..
