FIA Challenge: Day 9 - Fall Gradient

I have to say that I have been in a real slump with my designs lately.  I am either blocked or the designs do not turn out as nice as I would like.  This is really upsetting to me because this is my favorite time of the year!  I think I am trying too hard to be original.

Today's design was actually inspired by the fabulous Alyson at Beads.Nails.Food., which is why it probably turned out so nice! :)  She showed this awesome picture of a fall gradient in a group we are in together and I knew I had to put my spin on it for this challenge!

My first 2 polishes are from the new Project Runway line released by L'OREAL.  The polish in this collection is stunning and a few of them are perfect fall colors.  I started with 2 coats of The Temptress' Touch. A gorgeous golden, apple green.  Please excuse the hint of yellow in the pictures.  I did this design last night as the sun was setting which effected the tone.

Using an eye shadow applicator, I sponged L'OREAL The Muse's Inspiration, a perfect fall orange.

For the next sponged layer, I used Essence Gorgeous Bling Bling.  I picked this beauty up this weekend at Ulta.  It is a burnt, orangey-taupe with flakies.  So pretty!  I did get some bubbles sponging this polish but you won't see them with the end result.

For my last sponged layer I used my brand new bottle of Girly Bits Crunchy Leaves.

This glitter is so yummy!

I didn't want to have a plain gradient, so I decided to add a stamp.  I went with BM309 and Milani Black Swift.  I topped it off with 1 coat of HK Girl and 1 coat of Hardwear.

The fall-y, shimmer of this gradient is just so pretty! And I really love what the stamp adds to the gradient.

  1. gorgeous - this is stunning in every single way! xxx

  2. Pretty! I especially love the stamp.

  3. So pretty! I feel like the stamp pulls it all together!

  4. Pretty!! Love the gold ruffian nails!

  5. Just realized I have the Temptress Touch! I saw it at Walgreens a while back and it caught my eye but I've only worn it once so far. I shouldve bought the orange at the same time, last time I was there they were sold out :( I'm in love with this combo,.so pretty

  6. Tee-Hee, I just posted those two colors on a mani yesterday! They are perfect together! I love the sponging you did though!

  7. This is really pretty! I love how that green pops!

  8. The stamping really gives it a great, finished look.

  9. Love this, especially once you added the stamp.
