FIA Challenge: Day 12 - Harvest

I can't believe that the Autumn Challenge is almost over!! There is only one challenge left after today.  Where does the time go??  It still seems like we just started the Spring Challenge!

Today's theme is about the Harvest.  We started with Thanksgiving, but realized that some ladies in the group do not celebrate this US holiday.  I had the option of doing a Thanksgiving design but I have something special planned that I do not want to debut until next week! :)

My Harvest idea came from the idea of the crops in the morning, when the sun it's them and turns them all golden.  The design is very out of the book, but I really like the end result.

I started with 2 coats of China Glaze Kalahari Kiss.

I then added 1 coat of China Glaze Harvest, but I seemed to have accidentally erased the picture.  I also added Girly Bits Crunchy Leaves like a gradient.

I was going to stop with Crunchy Leaves but I really wanted to add a reddish color.  I grabbed Hare Rusty Hearts and added it to my tips.

To blend everything together, and because it looked beautiful, I added some more Crunchy Leaves.

For my rays of sun I used BM301 and Essie Good as Gold.  I also topped it off with 2 coats of HK Girl.

I love all the burnt golden tones in the design, so fall-y!

  5. This is really pretty! I'm still deciding what to do... maybe a cute turkey since it's Harvest/Thanksgiving though a turkey makes more sense for next week (Not for the challenge though).

  6. Oh wow, I have not seen a starburst nail design yet and this is just wonderful! The burnt orange is, well, different, but the silvery overlay makes it tolerable and pretty :)
