Taking A Stand or Bullying

I feel like I need to make a statement, I don't want my blog to be about issues that are going on with others and I feel that I might have made a decision that took my blog to a place I don't want it. So I need to address it.

I am in a group on Facebook that I love.  There are some great ladies in the group and I love how supportive everyone is and so many of them have the same sense of humor as me.  When something came up about "clean-up" I joined because I thought it was funny and I always try my best to be professional on my blog, which means presenting my designs clean, neat and with good photos.  I am also OCD about making sure I don't show messy manis.

I did not in anyway place a badge on my page to be a bully or to be rude.  I have done a post about bullying and clearly stated how I feel about it.  I work with students everyday that suffer from being bullied and I was bullied in middle school and high school.  The thought that I might have hurt someone did bother me because I know how it feels.

My blog is not about drama or issues with others, it is purely about nail blogging.

That's my statement.

Love, Life and Nail Polish xx

  3. Im guessing this is about the 'Clean Up Or Die' Group/Blog/Badge? If its not i am very sorry and will remove this post.
But if it is i have to say that if i had seen it on your blog i would have 'unfollowed' you. To belong to a group that thinks that thinks if you put a messy mani on your blog you should die, thats not ok. I know im going to get jumped on for this, because im sure everyone is going to say 'its just a joke, chill out' ect. But alot of people are not going to see the humor of the slogan 'Clean Up Or Die'.
If it had stayed a private group/joke, then that is your own bussness, but when you put badges on your own blog saying 'Clean Up Or Die' its taking the 'joke' too far.

  4. I thought it was hilarious but I have quite an offensive sense of humour.

  5. People often feel the need to get offended on the behalf of others, even if there was no real offense to be found. They think it's the morally right thing to do.

You seen like a fantastic person and it's very clear, at least to me, where you stand on the issue.

  6. It's situations like this that keep me from starting my own nail polish blog. I've thought about it many times, thinking it would be a lot of fun. But then I read drama like this and it changes my mind. I work full time and don't have 5 hours a day to spend on my manicures, although they look decent anyway. But the last thing I need is a bunch of bitches criticizing my photos because they aren't perfect. UNFOLLOWING!

    1. Amy, I am sorry if you feel this way. My post was not about drama, it was about removing drama. I do not criticize others work and never would.

  7. Macro photos show everything; sorry. I think the badge is hysterical, and I never saw it. Personally I cannot look at close up photos of messy nails -- that's why I follow only certain blogs. Beauty -- and humor -- is in the 'eye' of the beholder. Be yourself and let natural selection create your loyal fan base. PS I was bullied as a kid, too.
