Digit-al Dozen Does: Books - The Baby-Sitters Club

Welcome to another installment of Digit-al Dozen Theme Month!  This month's theme is books!

My first love was books!  I have so many memories of spending time at the library when I was little and throughout high school.  When I visited my first Barnes and Nobles I thought I died and went to Heaven!   I am not too picky in what I read and I will read almost long as it is written well and has a good story.

The books I have picked for this week all hold special memories for me.  It was really hard to narrow it down to five books!  I also didn't want to do the obvious like Harry Potter..don't get me wrong, I LOVE Harry Potter, but I think some of the other ladies will be doing the more popular ones.

My first selection was the first series that I was obsessed with, I had to read every single book and would stalk the stores waiting for them to come out!

I was a HUGE Baby-Sitters Club Fan! These books pulled me in and made me want to be apart of their lives.

From Wikipedia:
The series is about a group of middle school students living in the fictional town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut. They run a business called the Baby-sitters Club that helps parents find babysitters from the club who are available for jobs by calling during their club meetings. The club starts out with four members Kristy Thomas, Mary Anne Spier, Claudia Kishi, and Stacey McGill, eventually expanding to ten. Most of the main characters are thirteen years old. When the club was founded ( 1986), the four members were in the seventh grade, but ten novels later (1988), they are promoted to the eighth grade. From there, they are frozen in time until the very end of the series (2000), in which they graduate from middle school.

For my design, I kind of came up with a representation.  Each cover is different based on the story so I went with a general representation.

I started with two coats of Milani Pink Express and Rimmel 60 Seconds Too Cool to Tango.

I used BM307 and Milani White on the Spot for the first part of my design.

I decided to add BSC to signify The Baby-Sitters Club using my Born Pretty Nail Art Pen.

I really need to work on my writing with the pen!  It looks great on the plate when I practice and not so good on my!

Now all I want to do is go back and read all the books again! Wonder if I can download them onto my Kindle?!?!?

Are you a Baby-Sitters Club fan?

  1. Adorable mani! I remember owning a bunch of the books but never reading them :P

  2. Oh my gosh, I think I had ALL the Babysitter's Club books! I was hooked :) Great mani!

  3. Ahhh, I loved the Babysitters Club!!! Cute nails:)

  4. God! I used to devour those books. I was also a big fan of SVT/SVH and Saddle Club.

  5. Oh my god I loved those books so much. In Ireland, they were smaller and had red brick covers, so when I was sent some of the U.S ones by a friend of my Mum's, I thought I was like the coolest thing ever, with my American versions... I really wish I'd taken better care of them!! Gorgeous mani x (for reference, my favourite one was Mary-Anne's Makeover, in which haircuts obviously mean nobody will speak to you for a week) ;-)

  6. Oh my goodness, I *LOVED* the BSC! (I still do... shhh!)

  7. Great design and I loved these books! By far my favorite growing up! So awesome!

  8. Ahh, the Babysitter's Club! I was a huge fan, had all the books, the movie and the boardgame! Love it!
