Memorial Day 2014

Good Morning Everyone!
For those of you that do not live in the US, today is Memorial Day.  The day we remember those that have fought and lost their lives for our country.  I have had many family members and friends that have served in the military so I always like to make sure I do a design in honor of this day.

Today's design is nice and simple, which makes it easy for anyone to try at home!

To achieve this look I started with two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  The application was a tad streaky this time.  It didn't really matter because I would be covering most of it up!

I used an eye shadow applicator to dab on my red and blue.  I started using OPI Red Hot Rio but, like some reds, a thin application is more of a dark pink which didn't work with this design.  I went back over it with some dabs of Coca-Cola Red (you will see the full review tomorrow!)  which worked perfectly!  For the blue I used Keeping Suzi at Bay, which was perfect!

To pull the whole design together I added a coat of Pretty and Polished Freedom Calling.  This glitter was the perfect addition to the design. (Sorry I seem to be saying perfect a lot today!)

I have once again proved that even simple techniques can look amazing! I love this design and I think it has that fantastic "Americana" feel, just right for Memorial Day!
