KBShimmer Summer Collection Part 2 Swatches and Review

Press Sample

I am ending the week with some fabulous new lacquers from KBShimmer!  If you remember I shared some of the lacquers from the early release back at the end of May.  Today they released twelve new shades and I am happy to share seven of those with you!

Before I tell you about this collection I am going to tease you with a photo.  I'll explain more at the end.  I am pulling you in with some nail art!

The Collection!

KBShimmer is excited to announce the addition of 12 new colors to their 3-Free polish line. The Summer 2014 Collection includes 10 glittery shades, and two bold creams. “When designing our summer collection, glitter was on our mind. We were inspired by summer treats, bold colors, and summer flowers. We translated those into 10 glitter packed polishes and 2 fun creams,” KBShimmer Owner, Christy Rose, says.

“We adore glitter top coats” Rose says. “With almost a dozen creams in our collection it was time to bring more glitter pairings to our line. We are adding 4 new glitter top coats that pair well with many of our cream polishes. In addition, we are bringing in two new cream colors, including a near neon peachy orange ideal for pedicures, and a cream inspired by the 2014 Pantone color of the year, Radiant Orchid. We are also bringing in more creally and jelly polishes to round out the summer collection.”

In addition to polish, KBShimmer is branching out into nail art products with 6 varieties of nail vinyl decal sheets. “Nail art is a booming area in the fashion and beauty industry” Says Rose. “Even so, nail art is not always easy to create for the home polish lover. With these nail vinyl decals, it is a breeze for the home user to create wearable nail art that looks professional.”

Let's start with the glitters!

Look High and Holo -A raspberry jelly with a rainbows worth of holographic glitters in hexes and squares.
First I applied two coats without a base color.

Then I applied one coat over Barry M Raspberry.

I love how the glitter is so sparkly it jumps off the nail!

Sea You AroundThis deep emerald green near teal jelly features fuchsia and silver circle glitters, light blue squares hexes in a base with scattered fuchsia micro slivers and micro sparkle.
I applied two coats without a base color.  I did have to fish for the larger glitter.

For a deeper green, I applied one coat over butter LONDON Sozzled.

Mixed PeelingsA creamy off white polish with citrus and fruit colored glitters in neon green, lemon yellow and watermelon pink.
I thought that I swatched this without a base but when I looked back at my pictures I realized that I didn't!  So here is one coat over butter LONDON Cotton Buds. I LOVE the glitter in this one!

The Cream

Radiant OrchidRadiant Orchid, 2014 color of the year, is the ideal shade to transition nails from spring to summer and even fall.  This pink toned purple has fuchsia and mauve undertones.
I applied two coats, but I was amazed with the coverage in one.  A simple, beautiful orchid!

The Glitter Toppers

Scribble Me ThisA graffiti inspired glitter top coat featuring mini stars, triangles, and neon glitters.
I swatched and dabbed this fantastic glitter over 24 Carrot Bold and My Life's Porpoise.

Sweet WaveA bright pastel candy inspired glitter top coat with white, mint, periwinkle and watermelon colored glitters.
I swatched and dabbed over Right as Reign, which I think looks brilliant!

Red, White and Blue-tifulA limited edition top coat with mini red, holographic sliver and holographic blue stars. Small red, silver and navy blue glitters along with micro holographic sparkles complete this patriotic polish.
I swatched and dabbed over butter LONDON Cotton Buds.  I know what I am wearing for the 4th!

I teased you at the beginning with my nail art and now I will tell you all about it!  As you read, KBShimmer now has nail vinyls and stencils!  I created my nail art using some of these new vinyls!

Here is the selection that I received.  I had already started my design when I took the picture, so some are missing.
I used My Life's Porpoise, Chick Me Out, Don't Pink Twice and Low and Be Bold in my design. When I used the vinyls as stencils I sponged the polish instead of swatching.  I love the effect this created! I stenciled on my index, middle and little fingers.

The decals were very easy and fun to work with!

I absolutely love my selection of lacquers from the second release! Not only are they fun and unique, they are gorgeous!  Even though you will need to do some fishing and dabbing with the glitters, they are worth it!  you will not be disappointed with this collection!  This is why KBShimmer is so successful! They create a quality product!

Nail vinyl decal sheets will retail for $5 each. Each glitter polish will retail for $8.75 per 15 ml bottle, while the creams will retail for just $7.50 per 15 ml bottle.

Before I go I want to share one more thing!  Back in May when I received the early release collection I was also sent a KBShimmer Cuticle Oil.

I have been using this pen every night before I go to bed.  I love it!  My cuticles and the skin around my nails feels so soft and looks well nourished.  (As you can see in the photos)  Plus it smells so yummy!  It has become a staple in my nail care routine and highly recommend it!
