The Digit-al Dozen Does: Summer - Flowers

I normally wouldn't do flowers for a summer theme, however I came across an image that I knew I could do.  You all know that my free hand skills are quite sad.  I can do some things like dots and lines (most of the time).  I had great hopes for this design!

For my base I applied two coats of Barry M White.

I used my thinnest striper and Guava to add the veins of the petals.  I decided to limit myself to one petal per nail.  I felt that more than one, or the entire flower, would have looked crowded.

I used Lemon Ice Cream for the centers of my flowers.

I added my dots using my smallest dotting tool and Espresso.

I love how crisp this looks! The colors seem to jump off the nail.  I got a little stressed doing this design.  As I always do when free handing.  Once I told myself that it didn't need to look exactly like the image things went so much smoother.  Just a helpful tip if your also stress out over nail art.  Images are inspiration and you don't need to stress yourself out making a recreation!

  5. cute - but I don't know what the ring finger is - I think I had shelf paper that looked similar to the pattern you used for inspiration in one of my 60s homes! Going to see if I can get the page to display right - I am missing about 5 of the photos that are just framed place holders in now 2 browsers Ii tried.
