Yes! Another Milani manicure! If I keep this up I might get through the rest of the pile by the end of the year! The bonus with today's design is that you also get another review of the Glam My Mani nail vinyls.
I decided to finally try a negative space manicure. I have been loving the ones that I have seen others do and thought why not give it a try!
Here is what is in this design:
Ruby Stone - stunning red shimmer. (2 coats)
Enchanting - yummy, dark, dark reddish-brown. (2 coats)
Frenchie Sheer - soft and pretty, sheer white. (2 coats)
To create my negative space I used the lightening bolt vinyls from Glam My Mani.
As you can see, I trimmed one side so that the lightening bolt sat on the middle of my finger. I realized that they took up quite a lot of space on my nail.
I decided to sponge on the colors using an eye shadow applicator. Because I was filling in such small spaces it actually made clean up a big issue. Polish everywhere!
As you can see, my lines are not as neat as I would like them. A combination of sponging the colors, applying all the vinyls at once and rushing through the design caused my to forget to make sure the vinyls were properly attached to my nails. You can see some spots were they were and the lines are very clean.
I also think that this lightening bolt vinyl is too large for my nails. Some one with longer nails and wider nail beds would be able to pull this off much better than my short little nubbins. So keep that in mind if you are thinking about ordering these vinyls. I guess you could also trim down the sides to make a smaller design.
The Milanis in this design are fantastic! Perfect formula and application, even the sheer! I'm not a fan of sheer polish and I loved the softness created by this one.
I'll have to try the negative space design again!
You can pick up these shades at Kmart, CVS, Walgreens and Fred Meyers stores. Or you can purchase online at MilaniCosmetics.com.
