There is nothing wrong with you vision or your computer. You will see that I am back to nubbins in this post. In tomorrow's post they will be long again. No I do not have magical powers. Today's design is actually the last design I did for the week. Between the two manicures I experienced numerous breaks. It wasn't a good week. I am back to rocking my shorties.
Today's design is another one that I have been wanting to try out for some time. It finally felt like the right time! I present my first cherry blossom manicure.
I started with two coats of Guava. No matter what I did I could not get this shade to photograph. It lost all of it's green tone. Point is don't take this as the true color.
I sponged some Huckleberry to add depth to the sky.
Next was the clouds. I used a large dotting tool and White. It crossed my mind to stop here. I thought my sky looked beautiful. But I was on a mission to create my cherry blossoms so I moved on.
I was really worried about my branches. These are things that I typically have the most trouble with. Something was working in my favor! These are the best branches I have ever done! I used Cocoa and my thinnest stripping brush.
Now it was time to add the blossoms. I used Rose Hip, Pink Punch and Pomegranate with a variety of dotting tools to add the flowers.
Once I got to the end I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. The blossoms didn't look right and I was thinking I messed it up. I wasn't ready to give up! Adding a top coat can change a manicure and I was hoping it would help,
The top coat did soften the design. I like that it is different from most of the cherry blossom designs I have seen. I do think I need to work on the flowers. I will try something different next time.
Don't freak out tomorrow when you pull up my post and see long nails. Remember, I don't have magic powers!
