Color Club Poptastic Pastel Neon

Press Sample

I am back with a review!
My time off last week caused my reviews to be pushed back.  I have a few that I need to share but I'm not going to stress myself out getting them posted.  I really enjoyed not stressing about getting things posted last week.  Granted I did have these moments where I felt I HAD to post and then a couple minutes later, after reassuring myself that the world would not end if I missed some days, the feeling was gone.  But I do have a commitment to get these reviews out, so I am going to try my very best to get them posted.

Today's review is for the new Color Club Poptastic Pastel Neon Collection.  I was pretty excited to see this collection.  Bright pastels are a favorite of mine and I couldn't wait to try them out!
(I miss my long nails!)

Meet Me At the Rink - this robin's egg blue.  Fantastic color but it took three coats to achieve good coverage.

Diggin' the Dancing Queen - pretty lavender.  I applied three coats of this pastel purple.

'Til the Record Stops - brilliant pastel green.  A favorite from the collection but it was still streaky in three coats.

Hot-Hot-Hot Pants - gorgeous pastel peach.  Another favorite.  I applied three coats.

Disco's Not Dead - beautiful buttercup, yellow.  I wanted to love this yellow but I didn't love that after three coats it was still streaky.

Feathered Hair Out to There - pastel pink.  My photo is a little washed out, so you are not getting the true shade.  I applied three coats.

Under the Blacklight - pastel, neon green.  Awesome color! I applied three coats.

I used all the colors in the collection to create this look.  To save time and coats of polish, I applied a white base first.  Then it was just a matter of swatching each shade.  No taping, strictly freehand.

I really wanted to love this collection.  I had high hopes that these amazing shades would have a wonderful formula.  Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed that I had to apply three coats and even then some were streaky.  The collection is saved with a white base.  As you can see in the above photos, the polish looks smooth and flawless.  (with a white base)  For me, this collection will be regulated to the nail art pile.
This collection is available at colorclub.com for $8.50.

And I still have one more Color Club review!  Stay tuned!

  1. Very pretty pastel neons! Now that I think about it, I don't really own much bright colors like these too.
