The Digit-al Dozen Does: Re-creation - The Nail Polish Challenge's Pattern on Pattern Week Houndstooth and Roses

Time to wrap up another Digit-al Dozen week!  I have loved every single re-creation I created this week but my absolute favorite of the week is the one I am posting today!

Today's design comes from the week I chose, Patterns on Patterns.  It also includes some of my favorite elements, black and white, a pop of color and roses.  I went with The Nail Polish Challenge's Houndstooth and Floral design for my last re-creation of the week.

I started with two coats of Sugar Cube.

I didn't have the nail strips she used so I applied the houndstooth using Black Taxi and GA2.

I added my roses using a new technique.  Well not new technique, new rose making technique.  I don't know if anyone has done this before but I thought it would achieve the same look.  After watching her tutorial I realized she did it the normal way.  Oh well!
I used the dry marble technique to create my roses.  For the dry marble I used Blood Orange, Rose Hip and different size dotting tools.  Then it was just a matter of moving the polish around to create the look of different colored petals.  At first I thought that I it horrible but then I couldn't stop staring at it!

I used a small nail art brush, Jace and Tiana to add my leaves.

I loved this design so much I wore it for a week and almost cried when I had to take it off!

I hope you have enjoyed Re-creation Week as much as I have!

  1. So pretty! The combination is great and you recreated it really well.
